This unique piece was a blast to put together.  48 individual dried, clay sculptures attached to a 60 x 80 cm / 23.5 x 31.5" wood canvas.  Each piece takes up about 10 cm / 4" of space.  Some more, some less. 

Before attaching the figures, the wood was painted with an acrylic background(see photo).  The figures are attached to the wood with a strong mounting glue/cement that's rated to handle 300kg/m2 of pressure (see photo). 

As a result of so many clay figures, the full piece weighs 7.9 kg / 17.25 lbs.  I attached a steel hanging cord on the back (see photos).  I also hung the piece with both two and three large nails which holds the piece very well (see photos).  

The figures are made of hobby clay (see photos) and air dried for five days.  They are all coated with two coats of matte, floor glue, which is somewhat like a clear shellac which creates a bit of a sheen but also keeps things together a bit better and adds a slight layer of protection. 

Since the figures are dried clay and not fired ceramics, they are more delicate.  They can't get really wet and they can more easily chip or crack if something hits them.  For this reason I'd only like to sell it in Denmark where I can drive it to the purchaser's house (I'll add the cost of the petrol amount used to the full of the piece if you're more than 25km away) and possibly hang it as well.  I'll then take a picture of it and then I will not be held responsible or offer a refund if any of the pieces are damaged or fall off, etc. in the future.  I've done the maximum to ensure that the piece hangs securely and that each piece is attached securely.  But if something knocks into it or it gets wet, I can't guarantee that these delicate figures could withstand any sort of shock to them. 

The purchaser is highly encouraged to hang it on either a wood stud behind the wall with long, thick nails or drilling holes in concrete and inserting plastic anchors before inserting large, thick screws.

If you're outside of Denmark, I'll look into a wood, shipping crate and add that along with the cost of shipping it to the price of the piece.  

So, it's not exactly a painting but a mix of sculptures and a painted background which was super fun to make and to then see all the figures together in their glorious grouping!
